Spring has sprung!
Apparently I missed the actual day spring sprung, but better late than never. I really enjoy spring. Although spring seems to hate me as it tortures me annually with its abundance of pollen and endless other allergies, but it sure is pretty. The colors start to shine through as the snow melts away. The flowers bloom and the bees buzz. And that also means summer is right around the corner. There are such fun happenings during spring- Easter, Mother’s day, Memorial Day- all fun festivities.
As I sadly part ways with my winter boots, I am just as excited for cute sandals and pretty toes. I kicked off my colorful polish season with an Easter pastel, Gum Drop, on my toes last night. I love this polish and can’t wait to paint my finger nails too because it’s scented. (Warning: Do not use if you are a constant nail biter. You may chew off fingers.) I also have the Orange Pop. They are D-Lish. I added a cute purple flower gem too for a better hint of spring. (Sorry for the ugly toe shot, I hate all feet but just wanted you to get the full picture).

Hay Fever
Breakfast- the most imporant meal of the day.
Not to keep boring you with my fitness/diet news but blogging about it is all part of my routine, plus its very therapeutic for me.
I've been getting bored with my gym routine lately. Leg day, back day, blah blah blah. So last night I took part in my gym's Total Body Sculpting class. And I loved it. It kicked my a**. I am sore today and it's a great feeling. I realized that my niche is classes b/c there's so much motivation. You don't want to be the only person not getting it so you have to keep up. Although I do enjoy doing free weights or machines on some days, I don't always have the mind set for it. Mind over matter right? I'll now be doing the sculpting classes 2-3 times a week and cardio the rest.
I went to bed early last night after my workout and woke up feeling refreshed. I had my power smoothie for breakfast. Besides oatmeal or overnight oats, smoothies are my breakfast faves.
My ingredients include:
1 scoop protein powder
1/4 c. oats
1/4 c. Almond or coconut milk
1/4 c. Greek yogurt
1 tbs. milled Flax seed
4-5 fresh strawberries

Did the early bird catch the worm?
Yep, sure did. With the help of my lovely new alarm clock, I was up before the sun this morning and on my treadmill. I didn't get up right away but I did do a good solid mile. I feel better already.
I also had my delicious bowl of overnight oats for breakfast. I'm back on track and off to a good start. Now, I just need to be as productive throughout the entire day as I was this morning.

Sky rockets in flight, afternoon delight...
Get your mind out of the guuter. I'm talking about food here! My current foodie obsession are Lara Bars. These are the perfect grab-n-go's for breakfast or for a mid afternoon snack. They have the best flavors and are all natural too. I've completely changed the way I eat so if I can find something delicious and healthy, I'm all about it.
Although they are a little pricey ($1.69/bar), they are my favorites. When I'm lucky, I can find them on sale for 4 for $5 or so, either way, I love them. I go to lunch around 11 am everyday so by 3 pm I'm usually starving. A Lara Bar and an apple will keep me going for the rest of the day until the gym.
I'm not trying to sound like a commercial I just have to share my love for the bars. Enjoy!

Early bird gets the worm.
It's true. I think if I really were an early bird then I would get the worm. Mmm, protein. My recent goal has been to be more of an morning person. Hitting snooze 13 times for an hour is only making it worse. Think about it; that hour you are wasting hitting snooze, you could be sleeping soundly or up and being productive. I love sleep as much as the next guy and it is without a doubt vital for your body, mind, and spirit, but going to bed a little earlier and getting up even earlier would really be a major advantage.
I just bought this fancy new alarm clock from Brookstone to help get me up. (Not the most attractive accessory and a little pricey). Waking up to a dark room and my cozied up little puppy is a recipe for disaster. There's no hope that way. So, with the help of my new alarm clock, I am going to be waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed. (I say I am going to because I'm determined to make it happen). My main goal is to get my workouts done in the am, that way, I can even do some two-a-days. Summer is knocking at my front door right now and I am not ready to answer yet.

Excuse me... Where's my motivation?
Not my motivation to get into character but to get into shape. Anyone else having this same problem? I am probably annoying at this point as I continue on with my lack of motivation to run and run again. Any advice? Anything? I do amazing one week- get up at 6 am and run; 45 mins of cardio 4 days a week; eat only lean meats and veggies- then the next week, its almost as if I don't even move and only seem to be able to consume junk. What gives?
I'm about to hire a drill sargent or maybe put in a call to Jillian Michaels. Does she do house calls? I would probably get my run on just by running away from her. She's a little scary, but hey, that's the point I am at right now.

Luck of the Irish
Happy St. Patrick's Day! In my office today, there was a costume contest and the winner gets tomorrow off, which after a night of green beer and Guiness, it would be much appreciated. I don't think I'll win, there was major competition. I did manage to find some shamrock's tights and a Guiness tank. The leprechaun also provided us ladies with some St. Paddy's tiaras. My fellow co-worker, Brittany , who is in our KY office definitely took the pot-o-gold in her office. Congrats!
I also made some delicious Bailey's Irish Cream cupcakes. Yum! Have a fun and safe night. Party like a leprechaun!! Tonight, I will be drinking my Irish beverages, eating some Bailey's cupcakes, maybe even some soda bread and jamming out to Mumford & Son's, Dropkick Murphy's, and Flogging Molly. Can it get any more Irish than that? I don't know what it is about this holiday, but I just love it. I think it's the Irish spirit.
Wanted: a new nose
No, not a nose job just one that can stand the beautiful mass production of spring pollen. Begin allergy rant now... Apparently I'm allergic to the earth. It sucks. No allergy pill or even shots help. Ever have that oh so irritating itch in your throat which u have no way to scratch? That's me daily. Can't breathe, can't sleep, can't smell, all because of the blooming buds outside. And my nose is really tired of me scratching it non stop all day every day. I think I made my point- allergies=misery. End rant.
Anyone else have this problem? Know any better solutions?

Kiwi heaven
This Friday night's date night was a great one. We started out at a very unique restaurant thanks to Restaurant.com . I enjoyed a delish salmon entree. The meals were had were delicious but not as satisfying as we had hoped. After, we went next door to Salsas to get a beer. lol... Then, for dessert we visited the new frozen yogurt joint, Kiwi. After reading my fellow blogger's post here on her delish dish at her local fro-yo joint, I was craving it like crazy. I had a yummy bowl of Taro yogurt with cheese cake crumbles and I had to throw in a couple of chocolate covered pretzels. Mmmm... it was nom. I no longer had any spare room left for the movie, Hall Pass, but all in all, it was a great date night.

March Madness!
No, I'm not referring to basketball. I'm talking about my life right now. I haven't even has a minute to blog, not that anyone is reading this since my posts are "posting" in my followers' readers. WTF!? Just add that to my list. I don't want to waste the free second I have right now ranting, I just need to vent for a free seconds to catch my breath. I know my problems seem so minor right now, especially compared to so many others how really are suffering. But the problems I have are my problems; the things I have to deal with. Between school, work, and life, I just can't get caught up. So frustrating. The first thing I'm going to do after this term and when all my tests are passed is get a nice long massage. I'm exhausted and my brain literally aches. 
Ah! Tonight requires a couple cocktails and a movie. Personal time is a must in order to stay sane. Any way, I hope everyone has an awesome weekend and finds time for themselves. Happy Friday!
