2011- Get off your a**
As February quickly approaches and 2010 becomes even more of the past, I’ve realized that (1) I’m broke and (2) I’m a little out of shape since the holidays. I feel like I am still trying to come up with a game plan, or better yet a life plan, for 2011. I don’t want to think about a resolution, I want to MAKE changes- positive changes. 2010 seemed like it was going to be such a magical year. Two thousand and ten… still sounds important. But personally, not so much. I’m not saying it was a bad year but that “magical thing” I was hoping for didn’t happen. I did have some amazing and unforgettable experiences such as my trip to Italy, new car, new nephew. All treasured events that I would not have changed for anything.
I have a good feeling about 2011 though. I am confident about what I want and have the ambition to get it and make it happen. Each year I get older I realize how complicated life really is. But I also have learned that even though it is complicated, you can’t let it get the best of you. You have to get the best out of life (too cheesy? Sorry…). That’s my plan for 2011. Starting with health and wealth. I know what I have to do in the health department, that part’s easy. The motivation is the hardest part, however. Sometimes you really do have to kick yourself in the ass, don’t sugar coat it and just be honest with yourself. I'm going to start by looking in the mirror and telling myself, "Hey, you're broke and get your ass to the gym."
In the wealth department, that’s the trouble zone. I am usually very responsible and diligent with how and where I spend my money. I can also be very careless, $100 here, $50 there. Before I know it, I’m broke. And that’s a shitty feeling. I am setting limits for myself. First thing, I'm going to start adding little by little to my savings account, maybe $20 each week. That will hopefully add up to an extra $100 bucks a month. Math may not be my forte but if I keep it up, that's an extra 1200 greenbacks a year. Not a bad chunk of change.
I’ve also taken part in major discount and coupon deals like Groupon even the Entertainment Book has some good deals. Every penny counts. Saving really sounds like a mission impossible but by making little changes here and there it can be a success. I am determined to save and keep saving. It is all about self-discipline. You have to be able to spoil yourself every so often without having regret or be unable to eat that week.

Things you realize as an adult...
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.
18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. (Did you just look?)
23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their other brain is also important.

Thirsty for more
My #1 obsessed with Christmas present this year came in my stocking. I drink water all day every day, and with tap water being loaded with chemicals and bottled water being super expensive to keep buying and buying, this is the perfect gift. I carry it around like it's my adult baby-bottle.

Speak of the devil...
Just as I was hoping for the best for Sandy and karma to kick Jesse's ass, her scum-bag ex just announced he's engaged to Kat Von D. At this point, I'm sure she [Sandra] is just laughing this off, but still, just goes to show his true colors. They are 2 peas in a dirty, dirty pod. Now I really hope her and Ryan make some magic off screen together.

Sandra and Ryan= Best couple ever
So even though the rumors may not be true, I sure wish they were. My favorite actress + sexiest man alive= the perfect couple! I had a feeling ScarJo and Ryan wouldn't last. With their hilarious personalities, wit and charm, Sandra and Ryan are like 2 peas in a pod.
Even though I was beyond flattered when told me and my bf looked like Sandra and Jesse (my bf is way cuter), this is a major upgrade for her from biggest scumbag to sexiest man. Jesse who? Fingers crossed the rumors come true.

Date night: Friday night laughs
For our date night this weekend, as mentioned earlier, we went to the Improv to see the oh so funny Jo Koy.
The opening act was Orlando Baxter who was hilarious himself. I laughed so hard I almost spit out my drink on the guy in front of me. It was a full house but after we still got to meet and share a drink with the comedians. It was a great night! For those of you who don't know who either of the comics are, I'd highly recommend checking them out and seeing if they will be coming to a city near you.

I'm a junkie...
That’s right, I’ll admit it. I am a reality TV junkie. It’s a very obnoxious addiction, I’m aware. But like a car accident, it’s almost impossible to look away. Everything from Jersey Shore to Real Housewives to Swamp People, I watch them all. Why, I don’t even know. There are far better shows on TV I could be watching and actually benefiting from. But the majority of the reality TV shows, do benefit me by making me realize how lucky I am to NOT be on any of them… 16 and Pregnant for example.
Did you watch the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last night? I find Lisa Vanderpump to be hilarious. I’d love to have high tea with her. There’s never a dull moment with her and her quick wit. Maybe she and Cedric should have a spin off, oh and Jiggy too. Kim is far too needy and codependent makes me feel sorry for her sometimes. As for Camille, oh Camille, poor little rich housewife Camille… where to even start with her. I do feel bad for what Madame Kelsie Grammar did to her but maybe she shouldn’t be kissing another woman’s husband on the lips. I’d up and leave the Looney tune too.
And now that Jersey Shore is actually back to Jersey Shore, it’s a whole ‘nother season of hair gel, fake tans, and venereal diseases. Not sure why Sammie “Stank-Face” is there since she repeatedly states that she does not want to hangout or have fun with anyone other than Ronnie. (Good pick, he seems like a real winner too.) She always has this stank look on her face like she’s smelling a big pile of s**t. Maybe it’s because she’s always up Ronnie’s ass.
Jennie (J-Wow) scares the crap out of me. She walks in like Andre the Giant getting ready to lay someone out. She probably really can and has ripped a guy’s head off after sex. Yikes.
Pauly, despite his shellacked blow-out, is my fave. He is actually funny and seems sane, somewhat considering he lives in a mad house and by choice. Sanity doesn’t seem to apply to the rest of them, especially Mike “The Situation”. Now that he’s pulling in $10 million a year, I could bet that much money that the only way he is “hooking up” with any broads is because of the dollar bills. But, I’m sure he believes it to be because of his dapperness and charm. Sure buddy, sure it is.
Regardless of my reality TV rant, it’s great entertainment. Can’t wait to see what drama and debauchery happen next week. Stay tuned…

Off the Map- On or off the air?
Did you tune in to watch ABC’s new show, “Off the Map” last night? It was a little better than I expected. The string ray in the foot was pretty disgusting though. I’m not sure why ABC seems to favor doctor shows and why they keep creating more as if there are not enough of them. The show is basically Grey’s Anatomy meets MASH with a dash of a language barrier topped with far better scenic backgrounds.
There’s your typical blue-eyed McDreamy head doctor who you catch giving promising glimpses to the doe-eyed newbie; the fiery Latina with the “authentic” Spanish accent; the haughty second head doctor whom makes it clear the newbies have to prove themselves to be worthy in his eyes; the funny, more immature yet cute new guy, and the guarded, standoffish yet vulnerable blond (Played by Myrel Streeps daught, Mamie Gummer. Really, Mamie? Is that short for something? As if Gummer isn't bad enough.) Oh, still not sure which role the red head has yet.
Hmm… I’m a little skeptical, but so far so good. What do you think- should “Off the Map” be off the air?

Just got my tickets to go see the hilarious Jo Koy at the Tampa Improv tomorrow night. If you watch Chelsea Lately, you've seen him on there cracking jokes left and right. He sooo funny. I need a good laugh right now. Can't wait!

First week of the New Year… Have you kept up with your resolution thus far? I am progressively working on mine. I really need to go by #3… it’s all mental; Mind over matter.
I got back into the gym this week to try to run off all those cookies I ate over the holidays. So far the motivation is there and taking charge. It seems like LA Fitness gave away some free memberships or something because there was not that many people there last time. And I’m not bashing on anyone, but for the newbies, it’s a great step for you to make it into the gym but you have to actually get on the elliptical, not just stand next to it bopping your head to your iPod. It may appear intimidating at first, but one leg at a time and you’ll be off to a great start. The machine is not going to buck you off. It’s just like walking- left, right, left, right.

Starbucks switch
Being an avid and devoted Starbucks customer for almost 10 years now, (I am from Seattle) I was a little uncertain how I felt about the new logo. I think I like the last one the best by far... Change can be good but looking at the logo's history, I'm cautious to see what will become of it next. Your thoughts?

New year, new you
I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year. I know I sure did. Kept it a little more low key this year; I still managed to wake up with a pretty ugly hangover though. I guess it wouldn't be New Year's without one.
I'm not one for resolutions but I find it necessary to try to make positive changes and promises that are worth keeping. Now that Christmas has passed and my oven can finally get a rest from all the baking, it's time to make use of my gym membership again and dust off the ol' treadmill to work off those cookies.Good luck on your resolutions or healthy life changes.
