Dear Wal-Mart...

Thursday,

I’m sorry to say but I am almost at the point of no return. No returning to your store that is. Years ago, you were great, an innovation to shopping. I could go to your store and get everything I needed from milk to mascara to McDonald’s. It used to be kind of exciting at first. Now, well now the last place I choose to go and do my shopping is Wal-Mart. I’m not sure when the switch happened but rather than being just a quick and convenient one-stop-shop, you’ve turned into a popular hangout spot for kids 12-17, a field trip location for large extended families, and a motorized wheelchair track. And I'm not sure if you've paid much attention, but the people of Wal-Mart are...how should I say this...um, very eclectic. Along with the "shirts and shoes required" sign on the entrance door, I strongly feel it should read "shirts, shoes, pants, bras, and the appropriate size clothing required for all ages, as well as bathing and deoderant". Have you looked around?

Happy Valentine's Day

"Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own."
--Robert Heinlein
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I sure did. We celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday night. I asked for nothing but time and surprisingly ended up getting lots of goodies. Last year I got a pair of Reebok Easy-Tones which I have worn out the soles completely, unexpectedly, I got a new pair of Reebok ReZigs this year. I was in shock. Good job bf! I'm going really need them now after eating so many tatsy treats. As part of my gift, I spent hours making a delicious treat for my sweet. And they were sooo delish.

Music and love in the air

I haven't had much time to put into my blogs this week but I just have to say I am excited for the weekend. I am kick starting my Vday plans tonight since we're celebrating it tomorrow. (Unfortunately, I will be at work all day then school all night on Monday. Lame.) But tonight requires a good night's sleep as I've been slackin' on my beauty rest. I cannot wait to just sleep in tomorrow morning as long as I want to. It's much needed.

Countdown to V-Day

1 week until Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately it’s on a Monday this year but that just gives us the whole weekend before to celebrate. Whether it’s just dinner or a weekend getaway, Valentine’s Day isn’t just day to celebrate each other, but to celebrate each other together as a couple, as “us”. (I may have stolen that from a commercial, but still…so true).
I love Valentine’s Day. Roses and cards and chocolates… really any little gesture makes loved ones feel good on this day. I haven’t been able to narrow down my exact plans and gift details but there are a lot of good ideas out there.

Super Bowl Snack-down

Having a Super Bowl party? A Super Bowl party wouldn't be complete without the right food and drinks. The tough part for me though is trying to enjoy the game without completely destroying all my hard work put in at the gym that week. Or without having to do overtime in the gym the week after. My faves include chips and 7 layer dip. Yummy! And washed down with a nice cold brewsky of course.

2 Weeks Notice

And just like that, it’s February. My how time flies… I have no harsh feelings towards February though. It’s short and sweet.  Since it is the month of love now, better start thinking about your sweetie. Or if you don’t have one, I’m sure Cupid will find his way to you. It’s just 2 weeks away now. Valentine’s Day can be just another day or full of x’s and o’s. Personally, I used to think it was just a day to use as an excuse to eat lots of chocolate. It still is but there’s a little more depth to it now. I can’t spill my plans for it but one thing I highly suggest is chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Can’t go wrong with either. Ever. But before we get to V-Day, we mustn’t forget Super Bowl XLV. Not too excited about the teams this year– Steelers and Packers- but it will still be a good game to watch. From chips, dip, and beer to chocolate, strawberries, and champagne… welcome February!
